Introduction

Different to what happens on other game modes, the players aren’t automatically updated throughout the season according to their appearances in real life. Some may receive In Form cards, but most players remain with the characteristics they were given at the start of the season. In Ultimate Team, upgrades are made through the release of new cards in determined periods. The first one happens within the transition of one FIFA to another looking to reflect the player’s evolution between two seasons. The second one, in February, rewards the players who stood out the most along the first half of the season with the release of new (improved) cards. That’s exactly these winter upgraded players cards that are being released now.

There are some rules about these UP cards that you should know:

Upgrades apply to new non-inform players found in packs. Non-IF players in your Club will not receive an upgrade.
If an upgraded player’s new OVR rating equals or surpasses his existing first in-form’s rating, his IFs will get an upgrade.
If an upgraded player’s new OVR rating does not equal or surpass his existing in-form’s rating, his IFs will not get an upgrade. (Ex: Jamie Vardy went from 71 to 75 OVR, his 82 Record Breaker will not receive an upgrade)
However, if an upgraded player with an existing IF gets upgraded across Quality tiers (eg. Silver to Gold), his lower-quality IF will not get an upgrade. This preserves the in-form’s high value. (Ex: Jack Butland’s item is now Gold, but his Silver In-Form will not receive an upgrade and stays Silver.)
If you already own the in-form version of an upgraded player in your Club, your IF will get an upgrade.

Visually the cards are similar to their regular versions.

MAY 10, 2017 | FAKE

Like every year, tons of concept images and videos are created by the FIFA community. It was the case of the video bellow, published by @JamescDZN. For who doesn’t know, concept images and videos are alternative design suggestions of how the fans would like to see their game. Until here, everything normal. The problem started when a popular FIFA website decided to promote this work suggesting that it was a FIFA 18 leaked video, featuring the new FUT features. Obviously, they knew it was just a fan work but some of their followers believed that it was legitimate information. It isn’t. Any similarity between this great video and the final game is pure coincidence. Try to avoid click baiters.

APRIL 6, 2017 | FAKE

According to the UK press, Dele Alli is set to be one of the new faces of FIFA 18. The first one to announce it was the Daily Mirror. Unfortunately, it isn’t the first time that they publish something about FIFA that is not true. It looks that Ronaldo will be the cover face.

FIFA 18 Web App Release Date

When FUT 18 Web App will be launched?

FIFA 18 Web App Release Date and FUT Webstart Details

When will be launched the FIFA 18 Web App? Except EA, no one can confirms the FUT 18 Web App release date. However, according to our past experience, the most likely date is Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

It is very hard to find out in which date the FIFA 18 Web App will be launched because, most of the times, EA Sports don’t launch in the announced date to avoid servers overloaded. Last year, for example, they didn’t even announce it.

In FIFA 14, they turned off the web app on September 11 and announced it to 15. However, EA Sports anticipated the FUT Webstart in two days, which means that it was out five days earlier than in FIFA 13. In FIFA 15, the web app was pulled down on September 12 and back up on 18. It was supposed to be on 17, but a few problems have delayed it. In FIFA 16, the FUT Web App was under maintenance from September 11 and was released worldwide on September 15 at 6pm UK, two days before the announced date. Finally, last year the app was released on September 20, exactly one week before the game release.

You can see the release dates of the last five years in the following table:

How to Get Access to the FIFA 18 Web App

What you need to do to access FUT Web App early access

FIFA 18 Web App Details for FUT 18 - Release Date, Access and More

FIFA 18 Web App early access, also know by FUT Webstart, is only available for returned players. It means that only players who have created a security question/answer before August 1st 2017 will be able to use it. If it is not your case, you will see a picture like this one and you will need to play in the console first before you can access to the App. In other hand, if you played FIFA 17 you will have to buy and play FIFA 18 in your console until midnight of October 1st (UK time) to keep using the FUT Web App for FIFA 18.

To access the FIFA 18 Web App, just follow this link. Be aware to only trust web app links from the official EA SPORTS domain names. Please, also note that it will currently be live for FIFA 17 Ultimate Team, until it’s under maintenance for FIFA 18. Once it goes online again, it is not possible anymore to access the FUT Web App for FIFA 17.

Login Verification is a mandatory step before you can access the FIFA 18 Web App. If you never activated, just go to your Origin account here and enable it. Then, just confirm the email or sms they have sent to you, verify your FIFA Ultimate Team Secret question and answer and store your codes in a safe place. As simple as that. If you already did it in the past, all will need is your EA account email address, password and answer to your secret question.

Be aware that last season there was an initial invite error stopping many users from accessing FUT webstart. If you do successfully get onto the FIFA 18 Web App launch, we strongly advise keeping the window open so that you are continually connected. In previous years users have exited during times of high traffic and have found it difficult to get back on.

FIFA 18 Web App Offers

Why FIFA 18 Web App early access is so important

FIFA 18 Web App Details for FUT 18 - Release Date, Access and More

FIFA 18 Web App early access is not a great time to make the first coins. As usual, you can buy low and sell higher but, since no one is playing it for the first time, it will be very difficult to make much coins with trading. Hopefully, there are a few offers you can use to boost your game:

STARTER PACK
The Starter Pack includes 34 cards (29 bronze, 2 silver and 3 gold). This pack, besides enough players to start playing, where silver and gold are included with 45 contracts each one, has also everything your club needs to start. In other words, the club item cards which will be part of the pack will be: at least one stadium, one ball, one badge and two kits (home and away). All the cards of this first pack are untradeable, which means that you can not sell them.

WELCOME BACK PACKS
The Welcome Back Packs reward returning users for their loyalty – their FUT 17 gaming activity. Unlike what happened in the past, the antiquity has no effect on the welcome back packs a player receives. Most of the 12 cards in each pack will be gold, for which these offers assume particular importance in the start of your club. You’ll be rewarded too with two all players packs, each one with 4 bronze players cards, 4 silver players cards and 4 gold players cards (at least one rare).

DAILY GIFTS
During the first days Daily Gifts will also be offered, so the sooner you start the more you can win. Don’t forget to access your Apps every day. Each day you miss, it is one pack less you get. In the beginning, you’ll need all the cards you can get to start your first investments. The first daily gift will be available until midnight of FUT Web App release date and the last one until midnight of Monday, October 2 (UK time). Cards are more expensive in the early days, meaning daily gifts are relatively worth significantly more. Don’t forget to redeem your daily gift if you want to have a good start.

How to Make Coins During the FUT WebStart

A few tips to help you to make coins during the FIFA 18 Web App early access

FIFA 18 Web App Details for FUT 18 - Release Date, Access and More

If you want to build the team of your dreams, you must to have a good start. Here are a few tips you can use to make coins during the FUT Webstart.

1) Open all your first packs and sell the players and items that are less likely to increase in value upon the official release. List items on one-hour listing cycles and keep relisting until they sell.

2) Open the FUT Web App every day to receive free coins and daily packs.

3) If you have a lot of EASFC credits and Origin/EA Access, you can actually purchase kits and balls and sell them for a nice profit.

4) Don’t waste your precious coins buying packs during the FUT WebStart.

5) Sell items around the game’s release date for maximum profits.

6) In the first days of the market, which coincides with the first days of the FUT Web App, the market is really scarce. In this time, it is really difficult to find good deals because all the gamers have experience from the previous years and because the cash flow in the market is too low. However, as soon as new gamers start playing everything changes. That’s why you can’t miss the game release date, for example. You should also put a few coins aside to these times, since it is really easy to find cards at half price.

FIFA 18 Closed Beta

What is the FIFA 18 Closed Beta?

FIFA 18 Closed Beta Short Guide

Q: What is the FIFA 18 closed beta for?
A: The main purpose of it is to test the game. It’s for players to try out a FIFA 18 game mode and give the developer feedback on anomalies they might find, and also suggest potential alterations. This beta has also got the particularity of promoting the game itself.

Q: How does the closed beta interfere on the game’s development process?
A: Just like the previous games, FIFA 18 is very complex joining several game modes together, for they’ve been developed over the years. There are several different teams responsible for developing determined projects and areas of the game that might or might not be integrated into the final product according to deadlines, the work’s quality and other economic and strategic factors. Which means that these teams are not always working for the next FIFA. The whole project must be exhaustively tested out for them to make sure it works correctly. For that, Electronic Arts usually invite a group of volunteers in their premises so they can test the game. After the adjustments regarding the first feedback period are made, the Alpha version is released. This is the version EA uses to show it to the public for the first time, at EA Play. The game’s official release occurs at the end of September and always comes along with an update that’s supposed to correct the anomalies detected after the disks are printed out. Between one thing and the other, there’s the beta and then there’s the demo.

Q: In which languages is the FIFA 18 beta available?
A: The in-game language for the Beta is English only.

Q: Where goes the feedback?
A: In a forum created for the purpose where the only people who have access to it are the invited players who registered.

Q: Can I use the Beta progress in the final game?
A: No.

Q: Is the Beta database updated?
A: No. The players and ratings used in the FIFA 18 closed Beta are the same ones of the FIFA 17.

Q: Will I be asked to do something other than give them feedback?
A: Yes. For the developer the closed beta is like a big test, so they might ask you to test something out specifically. For example, in Ultimate Team you’ll receive credits so you can try buying packs.

Q: How big is the file I have to download?
A: Bigger than 16 Gb.

How to Play?

How to be invited and other questions

FIFA 18 Closed Beta Short Guide

Q: If I get an invitation, for which game mode it will be?
A: If you get selected then EA will most likely add you to the mode you played most.

Q: Will EA unlock all the game modes?
A: Yes, they will do it in the last three days.

Q: How much does the beta cost?
A: It’s free of charges. However, you’ll need a direct invite.

Q: How can I play the FIFA 18 closed beta?
A: Only players that are invited will be able to play the closed beta. Stay alert to your mail box, the one you use for your FIFA account, to see if you were invited or not. Pay attention to all folders, including spam.

Q: Is the FIFA 18 beta available for players from every countries?
A: No. Only select FIFA 17 players in North America (United States and Canada) and the UK who opted in to receive EA emails will receive an email at the address associated with their EA account.

Q: When do they start sending the invitations?
A: They will start sending invitations in early August, gradually for each platform.

FIFA 18 Closed Beta Short Guide

Q: I’ve received an invite for the beta in my e-mail. How do I know it’s legit?
A: Carefully verify if the sender’s email looks like this: something@ea.com. According to Electronic Arts, all Beta communication are sent from noreply@ea.com. Add this address as a safe sender to receive emails. Check your spam, junk or social folder for any missed email messages from noreply@ea.com.

Q: I received an invitation. Does that mean I’ll play the beta?
A: No. The number of spots is limited so as soon as you receive the invitation you’ll need to register in order to guarantee yours.

Q: What criteria do they follow while picking the players who earn invitations?
A: Generally speaking, the selection process is random.

Q: Do I have better chances to play the Beta if I live closer from EA offices?
A: No. If you live in US, UK or Canada, then location has nothing to do with the selection.

Q: Do I have better chances to play the Beta if I played a lot of FIFA 17?
A: To be selected, you must have played a certain amount of games. However, it doesn’t need to be a lot of games. There are people who have played thousand of games and will not be invited.

Q: Do I have better chances to play the Beta if I am good at FIFA?
A: No. Your record has no influence.

Q: Is there anything I can do to improve my chances to be selected to the FIFA 18 closed Beta?
A: Yes. If you want to increase your eligibility for FIFA 18 Beta, check your Contact Preferences under Privacy Settings in My Account on origin.com and select the first box. You can also check if FIFA is available in the ‘Game Tester Program‘ tab.
Another way to improve your chances is to become an EA Sports FIFA Insider. To do that, go to this page, login with your EA account and check the box ‘EA may email me about EA news, products, events and promotions’. Good luck!

Q: Can I request an invitation to EA?
A: No. Closed Beta has limited space. Not everyone will play it. If you haven’t received an invite to play, then you will not play. Game advisors cannot authorize and provide email invites if you did not receive one. They can’t do nothing for you.

Q: Can I sell or share my invite?
A: No.

Q: I’ve found invites for sale. Are they legit?
A: They’re almost never legit because invitations are always associated to one Origin account.

Q: By accepting the invitation, what am I obliged to?
A: You’ll need to fulfil the agreement of the closed beta, which includes a confidentiality term.

Q: I’m a minor. Can I play the beta?
A: No. It’s exclusive for players at the age of 18 or older.

Q: After I’ve been invited what do I have to do in order to play the closed beta?
A: You should click ‘register’ directly from the e-mail you received and agree with the terms of service. Selected players who successfully registered for the Beta will receive a second email around August 18 with a Closed Beta access code for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. To see how to redeem a code for Playstation 4, click here. To see hot to redeem a code for XBox One, click here. If you’re accepted, you’ll be able to download the beta and play.

FIFA 18 Closed Beta Short Guide

Q: What does the confidentiality term consist of?
A: It basically forces the participants not to divulge any information regarding the game outside of the forum created for this purpose. Hence closed beta. Live streaming and image capturing of Closed Beta gameplay or forums is against the rules.

Q: What happens to those who don’t fulfill the confidentiality term?
A: They’ll lose access to this beta and to any other that’s released afterwards. Other measures can be taken for cases that are more serious.

Q: Is it normal for the participants to break the rules of the term?
A: Yes. EA Sports promote denunciation and inspect shared content, but as soon as the beta is released it’s guaranteed that some participants will make some information and images of the game public.

If you’re one of the lucky ones that will get to try out FIFA 18 before everyone else, congratulations. Have fun testing the FIFA 18 closed beta and try making this game even better.

EA Access Frequently Asked Questions

What else the community wants to know?

Q: When do I need to buy a subscription that works with FIFA 18?
A: At least before the game release, if you want to play in the early access. Discounts’ on packs are always valid.

Q: What happens when my subscription ends?
A: In order to keep working after this period, a renew is required. By default, it is made automatically.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: This can be done via the Xbox website or your Xbox One console. You need to log into your EA account and locate ‘Account and Privacy‘ or the Subscriptions Column on the Xbox website.

Q: What happens to DLC I’ve purchased if I cancel my EA Access membership?
A: You’ll keep any games or content you buy with your membership discount. However, you’ll lose access to The Vault if you cancel your membership. If you bought DLC specifically for a Vault game, you’ll need to either purchase the associated base game separately or renew your membership to access your DLC.

Q: Do I have to have an Xbox Live Gold account to join EA Access?
A: Nope, you can join up with a free Xbox Live Silver account. That said, you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account to play any multiplayer games included in EA Access.

Q: Does my EA Access account work on multiple Xbox One consoles?
A: Yes – your membership is attached to your gamertag, so you can use your EA Access account on any Xbox One console where you’ve logged in.

Q: Can everyone in my house use my EA Access account?
A: If you’ve designated your Xbox as your home console, anyone with an account that uses that Xbox can download, install, and play Vault games through your membership. Trials of new EA games and your 10% member discount will only be accessible through your specific Xbox Live account.

Q: Is FIFA 18 EA Access transferable?
A: No.

Q: If I have an EA Access subscription but don’t buy the game, how long I will be able to play FIFA 18 with the early access?
A: Usually until the full game release date or until you have played 10 hours, whichever comes sooner.

Q: What are pre-release trials? Will my progress carry over?
A: With an EA Access membership, you can download and play upcoming EA games before they’re released for a limited time. Because you’re playing the real game, not a demo, any progress you make will carry over, so you can pick up where you left off starting on launch day if you decide to purchase the game.

Q: Are games streamed or downloaded?
A: The games you want are downloaded straight to your system to ensure the best possible performance, and can stay there as long as you have your EA Access membership (or until it’s time to clear out your hard drive for more games).

Q: How do the trials of new EA games work?
A: As a part of your membership, you get exclusive access to EA’s newest games days before they’re released. Your progress even carries over to the full game if you decide to buy, so you can pick up where you left off.

Q: How long does each trial last?
A: Trials typically last up to 10 hours. Burn through all that playtime at once or spread it out over days – the timer only ticks down when the trial is running. The trial timer will continue to count down even when the game is running in the background, so make sure to quit your trial completely when you aren’t playing.

Q: What is the difference between the demo and the FIFA 18 EA Access trial?
A: Demos are stand-alone chunks of a game meant to give you a taste of what it offers. But with EA Access trials, you’re playing the real game for a limited time before its release date. And if you purchase FIFA 18 once it releases, you can pick up right where you left off – your progress and stats carry over.

Q: Can I buy FUT 18 packs during the early access?
A: Yes. This feature is active in FIFA 18 early access version.

Q: Will FIFA Points be for sale during early access period?
A: Yes. Players who have FIFA 18 EA Access for Xbox One will be able to purchase FIFA Points during the early access trial.

Q: Can I transfer my FIFA 17 Points to FIFA 18 Points during the early access period?
A: Yes, you can. However, this is only between XBox One and XBox One. If players choose to not play the full version of FIFA 18, they will not be able to transfer their FIFA Points back to FIFA 17.

Q: Should I buy the EA Access? What do you think?
A: It depends on your profile. If you play more EA games besides FIFA, it may be a good decision.

FIFA 18 Demo Platforms

For which platforms the FIFA 18 demo will be released?

FIFA 18 Demo Guide - Release Date, Teams, Download and More

As usual, the demo should be released for the most popular plaforms:

Playstation 4
XBox One
PC
Playstation 3
XBox 360

However, it is not confirmed that a version for PS3 and Xb360 will be out. If released, it won’t feature gameplay improvements and mode innovations. Because FIFA on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 do not run on the Frostbite game engine, The Journey will only be available for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.

The FIFA 18 Demo won’t be launched for iOS and Android.

FIFA 18 Demo Game Modes

Which game modes you will be able to play in the FIFA 18 Demo?

FIFA 18 Demo Guide - Release Date, Teams, Download and More

The FIFA 18 demo will be a limited version of the full game. It’s designed to show users what the full game will be like, showing off new features and gameplay improvements. Any progress will not carryover from the demo into the full game.

There are two game modes available on the FIFA 18 Demo: Kick-Off and The Journey. Just like last year, Ultimate Team was not included in the demo. It also has a menu that describes the new features of the game and another one that gives you the chance to buy the full game.

Kick-Off Mode

On Kick-Off mode, you can play a 4 minutes halves “Match Day” alone or against a friend. Take to the pitch with some of the best clubs in the world. There are ten teams available to play. It is possible to send the goals scored on the demo to EA Sports Football Club.

Here are the game settings of the kick-off mode:

Match Lenght:
8 minutes (4 minutes each half)

Match Type:
Single player or against a friend

Difficulty Level:
Beginner, Amateur, Semi-Pro, Professional, World Class or Legend

Match Conditions:
Custom (can’t change)

Season:
Autumn / Fall (can’t change)

Stadiums:
<img src=🇸" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Stubhub Center and two other stadiums

Time of the Day:
Day or Night

Weather:
Rain or Clear

Menu Options:
Play Match, Team Management, Game Settings, Controller Settings and Select Sides

Kits:
Home or Away (the third kit is not available in the demo)

The Journey II

The FIFA 18 Demo will include a limited version of The Journey II, also known as ‘Hunter Returns’. On The Journey mode, you can control Alex Hunter, inside and outside the pitch, on a journey to make his mark in one of the most popular clubs. It’s a cinematic world informed and influenced by real players, personalities, locations and events that take you places you’ve never been and bring you experiences only available in FIFA 18.

Obviously, this game mode has a few restrictions in the demo, like the club where he plays (probably Real Madrid) or the limited time you can play. Progress will not carry over to the full version of FIFA 18, but should be enough to help you decide if this game mode is for you or not.

The FIFA 18 Carryover Transfer Guide

Why the FIFA 18 carryover transfer details are so important?

FIFA 18 Carryover Transfer Guide for FIFA Ultimate Team

We thought that creating a guide like this wouldn’t be really necessary since most players already know what they’ll be able to carry over to FUT 18. However, we started receiving several help requests concerning this theme. A lot of our followers have started playing FUT this year, so this is completely understandable. Even we ourselves have been in this position several years ago when we first started playing and looking for the same answers. We have been receiving these questions so frequently that we felt the need to look all over the internet and see if there are many people in the same situation… and yes there are. The bad thing is that among all the answers given by the most experienced community players, there are many, many inaccuracies and contradictions.

Whoever is familiar with us knows that we don’t like to leave the slightest questions unanswered. That is why we’ll be exploring everything there is to know about the FIFA 18 Ultimate Team carrying over: what you’ll keep from the previous game, what happens if you switch consoles, what you need to do to switch to FUT 18 and how FIFA points transaction works. No matters if you are an FUT 17 regular gamer or fresh to the game, keep up with us as we clear things up. As always, we will swot up your knowledge and bring you right up to date with what is going on!

Transferable Items

Which items you can bring to FIFA 18

When you move to a new title, you can bring with you part of your progress in the previous game.

These ARE carried over to FUT 18:

– Established Date;
– XP Level;
– FC Credits;
– FUT Club Name;
– FIFA Points.

Established Date

This one is obvious: whether you are an FUT Founder or your club was established this time last year, your established date will remain the same in FIFA 18. There are many complains about established dates, so if your date was wrong in FUT 17, it will still be wrong in FUT 18. There are things that never change.

XP

XP levelling is a system that a measures how experienced you are in the FIFA universe. Every time you earn XP, you gradually build up your levelling bar until you reach a new level. Once you unlock a level, you’ll never lose it within your account. It doesn’t matter the game mode, platform or the game on its own. Basically, you’re going to maintain on FIFA 18 the XP you have at the time. You can even go back to FIFA 17 and still earn XP. It’s shown on the superior right corner of the screen, placed below your ID. Maintaining your XP will give you some advantage over the beginners because you’ll have access to several EASFC Catalogue items they don’t.

FC Credits

FC Credits (Football Club Credits; FCC) is the coin used on EA Sports Football Club. Works exactly like the XP, being linked to your Origin account and not directly related to the FIFA you’re playing. It’s basically used to purchase EASFC Catalogue items and it’s shown immediately in front of the XP. Don’t forget to save a few FCC to purchase coin boost items at the start of FUT 18. XP Level and Football Club Credits are important FIFA 18 carryover items. Coin boosts and catalogue items at the start of FIFA 18 are incredibly useful.

FUT Club Name

One of the things EA Sports allows you to keep on FUT 18 is your club name. When you start it for the first time you’ll be asked if you wish to change it or just leave it the same. If you choose yes, you’ve got the right to keep it. You can only change it later buying the club name changing EASFC Catalogue item or through the Manager Tasks. If you choose no, you’ll be creating a new name and the old one will be available for other people to use.

FIFA Points

FIFA Points are an alternative to coins that are used to purchase FUT packs in the store or enter FUT Drafts. If you don’t intend to spend all your FIFA Points on FUT 17, you can transfer them to FUT 18. You can even buy some by the end of FUT 17 so you can use it in the FUT 18 release date, since it won’t be purchasable during the FIFA 18 Web App Webstart period. However, this is a one-time transfer, so you’ve got to be careful when you start the game for the first time. If you have an EA or Origin Access membership, you are able to make the transfer during early access.

FIFA Points are FIFA 18 carryover items but can only be shared between same consoles, so if you buy them on Xbox One you can’t use them on Xbox 360 and if you buy them on PS4 you can’t use them on PS3.

Non-Transferable Items

Which items you can’t bring to FIFA 18

When you move to a new title, you can’t bring with you part of your progress in the previous game.

These ARE NOT carried over to FUT 18:

– Coins;
– Cards;
– EASFC Catalogue Items;
– Match History, Record and Leaderboard;
– Current Division;
– Xbox Achievements or PSN Trophies.

Coins

If you didn’t know coins can’t be transferred to FUT 18, then you must be disappointed. We’ve all been there so don’t worry, you eventually get over it. Plus buying cards won’t help since they can’t be transferred as well. Don’t know what to do with the coins you’ve been arduously collecting for a year? Give them to someone you know who will not play FIFA 18.

Cards

If you’ve got Messi on your team and you’re buying FIFA 18, it’s time to say goodbye to him. None of the cards you currently have in your club will be transferred to FUT 18: not the players, staff, consumables or even your club items. Nothing. Unfortunately, the FUT cards are not FIFA 18 carryover items.

EASFC Catalogue items

The EASFC Catalogue is a kind of a store where players can exchange FC Credits for hundreds of items. For Ultimate Team it’s possible to increase the targets and transfer lists, receive coin bonuses, change the club’s name, increase the maximum number of squads, get players on loan, and even buy “super” 99 contracts for your players. Since this catalogue changes from FIFA to FIFA, you won’t be able to bring items you purchased on previous games. But don’t worry. You will be able to redeem the items of the new catalogue as long as you have enough Football credits to buy them.

Match History, Record and Leaderboard

Are you that one who’s in the Leaderboard TOP 100? Congratulations. Time to take a screenshot, otherwise this awesome deed will be easily forgotten, left behind to ashes. Your Wins/Draws/Losses history will be lost when you stop playing FIFA 17. It won’t count towards FIFA 18. And even if you decide to keep playing it, EA will put an end to it in less than 2 years because, well, they’d just rather not keep spending money on servers few people will playing at. In their words, they do this so they’re able to ‘enhance the user’s experience‘. Better just go take a screenshot then, huh ?

Current Division

Do you think that reaching Division 1 has never been so hard as it was in FUT 17? If you’ve done it, you’re probably constantly struggling not to get relegated to division 2. What if you get relegated to division 10? This is what will happen when you start FIFA 18 Ultimate Team. If you think you’ll just humiliate your opponents, just forget it. Everyone starts at Division 10: the good and the bad players.

Xbox 360 Achievements or PSN Trophies

You already know this one: new game, new achievements/trophies. Achieving objectives that each console grants you will not be related to FIFA 18, naturally, because they’re specific to each game. Waiting for a TOTW card from a pack? EA thanks your effort. Or not.

Move to FIFA 18

There is no way to bring your FIFA 17 progress to FIFA 18

FIFA 18 Carryover Transfer Guide for FIFA Ultimate Team

So much effort for nothing. A whole year trying to get the best players for your team. So many hours spent setting up auctions and then you lose everything. This is probably what’s going on inside your head now… Everyone who’s been through this knows the feeling. But believe it or not, the truth is it just goes away as soon as you start a new FIFA and you go back to chasing that perfect team once again. You’ll see…

But why do we really have to start from the bottom and not be able to keep our cards and coins?
It’s basically for three reasons:

    Challenge
Playing the same game all over again may not be very stimulating. It’s true that you might already have a good team and all, but going back to square one can be much more interesting than it seems to be, especially when everyone is doing the same. This year you’ve probably made a few mistakes and now it’s time to take advantage of what you’ve learned. It’s an opportunity to do it the right way to reach perfection. You can buy several managers right at the start and this will help you save tons of coins throughout the year, for example; you can buy that great player before his price starts to rise madly. Soon you’ll be resigned and will be telling yourself “I’m going to follow this awesome site’s tips and this time I will get Ronaldo”. Every year, the FIFA community is accepting better this rule. Otherwise, in FIFA 20 every squad would have Messi and Ronaldo.

    Money
Let’s not be hypocrites. As players, there is the motivation of building a whole new team and that’s quite enough. However, for EA Sports, the only true reason to carry on would be the money. As soon as they “vanish” all those cards and coins assuming FUT 18 is a completely new game, they’re about to get some ridiculously high profit. It’s not only about forcing players to go for the new packs. It’s a completely new world for the FUT gaming community, everything loses its value from a moment to another; all the old cards and coins go to waste. Don’t think we’re talking small shares of the business. FIFA digital game sales’ annual growth rates have increased and EA Sports already makes more money selling FUT packs than the actual game.

    Logistics Problems
If people would keep in FUT 18 everything they had back in FUT 17, there would be other problems concerning the game’s mechanics. It wouldn’t be the end of it, but that would certainly make the game more confusing and unfair. What’s the logic on having several different rated cards of the same player just because the season has ended? Is it fair to have your players underrated just because they’ve had a worse season? Where’s the fair play when you start the game having millions of coins while others have nothing? This would make the game unsustainable for beginners since all prices would be ridiculously high. In a way, it’s really necessary that the coin flow is managed so we can have a fair, competitive and sustainable game. And this can only be done once we start a new game.

Now that you know you’ll be having useless cards and coins, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to do with them. Most players try and enjoy them until the very end. There are also people that decide to spend them all on packs – fair enough.

The truth is that those coins could be converted to real money, but right now this isn’t really a brilliant deal. In two months before the release of the new game you won’t be getting more than 50 euros for each million of coins, and for another month past this is reduced to half. So here’s a lesson: if you want to be best rewarded for your effort you’re going to have to think about starting your business sooner next time.

If you’re a generous friend, find someone who’s not getting FIFA 18 and offer them your coins. They will certainly be very thankful. Bear in mind that very few people go back to playing an old FIFA after they’ve started playing a new one, so don’t worry about regretting a possible donation.

After so many disadvantages you might be wondering if it’s worth it or not getting the new FIFA 18. If you’re a fan of the series, it’s safe to say that we recommend it. Besides the renewed experience inside the pitch, you’ll be able to build your team based on what’s going on in the real life football. The transfer market will allow new combinations of players and their ratings will be updated. Before you know you’ll forget what was left behind.

In order to start playing FUT 18 you obviously need to buy FIFA 18. Use the same Origin account you’ve been using so that the system recognizes all your data: FCC, XP, club name and FIFA Points. The older players’ loyalty will be rewarded with early access to the Web App around 2 weeks before the official game release date; all that followed by free starter packs.

FIFA 18 Ultimate Team on a new console

What happens when you switch console

FIFA 18 Carryover Transfer Guide for FIFA Ultimate Team

PS4 and XBox One consoles are getting cheaper and for that reason, many players will use FIFA 18 as a reason to upgrade to the new consoles generation. If that’s your case, get to know what you have to do so that everything’s fine. The FIFA 18 carryover for a new console is a topic little more complicated than it seems, so we’ll try to simplify:

Different Platform, from FUT 17 to FUT 18 or from FUT 18 to FUT 18

From PS3, PS4 or PC to XBox 360 or XBox One (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From PS3, PS4 or PC to XBox 360 or XBox One (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From XBox 360, XBox One or PC to PS3 or PS4 (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From XBox 360, XBox One or PC to PS3 or PS4 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From XBox 360, Xbox One, PS3 or PS4 to PC (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From XBox 360, XBox One, PS3 or PS4 to PC (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)

You’ll only keep what’s linked to your Origin account. That is your XP and FCC.

Same Consoles, from FUT 17 to FUT 18

    From PS4 to PS4 (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
    From PS3 to PS3 (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From XBox One to XBox One (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From XBox 360 to XBox 360 (FUT 17-> FUT 18)
From PC to PC (FUT 17-> FUT 18)

Switching consoles doesn’t mean any disadvantages since you use the same platform (Playstation or Xbox) and Origin account. We’ve talked about what’s being lost and kept earlier in this article. In other words, you will keep the XP level, FC Credits, name and FIFA Points, and you will lose the coins, cards, EASFC catalogue items, match history, current division, trophies and awards.

Same Platforms, from FUT 17 to FUT 18 or from FUT 18 to FUT 18

    From PS3 to PS4 (FUT 17 -> FUT 18)
    From PS3 to PS4 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
    From PS4 to PS3 (FUT 17 -> FUT 18)
    From PS4 to PS3 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From XBox 360 to XBox One (FUT 17 -> FUT 18)
From XBox 360 to XBox One (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From XBox One to XBox 360 (FUT 17 -> FUT 18)
From XBox One to XBox 360 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)

This is something has changed in FIFA 16. You no longer can share your stuff between different consoles, even if you are still playing on the same platform. This means coins, club items and transfer market items will no longer be shared between Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and between PS3 and PS4. You’ll only keep what’s linked to your Origin account. That is your XP and FCC.

Same Consoles, from FUT 18 to FUT 18

    From PS4 to PS4 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
    From PS3 to PS3 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From XBox One to XBox One (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
    From XBox 360 to XBox 360 (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)
From PC to PC (FUT 18 -> FUT 18)

Whoever plays FUT 18 on a console will be able to keep absolutely everything when they switch to another console. Won’t see a difference. Just use the same Origin account and you’ll be able to see the system recognising your XP, for example. However, you’ll be requested to restart Ultimate Team if you’re not logged in with your PSN ID or Gamertag. Don’t ignore this simple step.

What is Origin Access ?

Should you subscribe the Origin Access program?

FIFA 18 Origin Access Guide for FIFA Ultimate Team

Origin Access is a subscription paid program exclusively for PC owners. With it, gamers can get exclusive offers for Origin video games.

The Origin Access, released on January 2016, offers to subscribers three main advantages:

Early Access to the full game
Subscribers can download FIFA 18 earlier and play it up to 10 hours. It is possible to carry forward the progress and achievements.

Free Access to Games
Origin Access holders have free access, any time and as long they keep being subscribers of the service, to a selection of games ‘The Vault’. At this moment, it includes FIFA 15, FIFA 16 and FIFA 17.

10% discount on Origin digital purchases
Origin Access subscribers pay 10% less to buy FUT 18 packs and also get a 10% discount in the full FIFA 18 game, as well in any other Origin digital content (except Titanfall 2). If you own FIFA 17 on PC and if you are an Origin Access Membership, you can join both discounts to pay 20% less on the Icon edition.

Early Access

How to play FIFA 18 first

• Play trials of new Origin games before they’re released, no purchase necessary.
• Your progress automatically carries over to the full game if you buy, so you can pick up right where you left off.

FIFA 18 Origin Access Guide for FIFA Ultimate Team

What is included ?
Subscribers can download FIFA 18 full game before the date release. But there is more. Origin Access holders also get early access to other Origin titles.

What are the early access features ?
Through FIFA 18 early access, subscribers may play the full game before the game hits the stores, including on line play and FIFA Ultimate Team features. However, there is a 10 hours total limit of game play. It is possible to play, trade, sell, buy cards and FIFA Points, which can be a huge advantage over the other players without early access. Saved games and achievements/trophies subscribers earn during Early Access, while connected to Origin Servers, will unlock once they purchase and log into the Origin Servers with the final version of the game.

Which ones are the early access dates ?
FIFA 18 Origin Access early access starts on September 21, which is eight days before the official FIFA 18 release date.

How to get the early access ?
After buying the Origin Access, subscribers just need to download the game through the service’s dashboard.

Origin Access Frequently Asked Questions

What else the community wants to know?

Q: When do I need to buy a subscription that works with FIFA 18?
A: At least before the game release, if you want to play in the early access. Discounts’ on packs are always valid.

Q: What happens when my subscription ends?
A: In order to keep working after this period, a renew is required. By default, it is made automatically.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: You can cancel from either the Origin Client or Origin.com.

From the Client
1. Log into your EA Account.
2. Click “Origin” in the top menu and then click “Account and Privacy.”
3. Click on the Origin Access button on the left, then click “Cancel Membership.”
4. Follow the on-screen directions. Feel free to rejoin anytime.

From Origin.com
1. Log into your EA Account.
2. Click “My Account” and then “Manage Membership” in the top navigation bar.
3. Click on the Origin Access on the left, then click “Cancel Membership.”
4. Follow the on-screen directions.

Q: What if I want to cancel Origin Access before my membership ends?
A: If you cancel your membership prior to your next monthly or annual billing date, you won’t be charged for the following month or year. You’ll be able to continue to play Vault games, use your discount and jump into any available Play First Trials until your membership expires. Please note there are no refunds for either monthly or yearly membership fees regardless of when you cancel.

Q: Is FIFA 18 Origin Access transferable?
A: No.

Q: Do I need to be connected to the internet to play games with my Origin Access membership?
A: For Play First Trials, you’ll need an Internet connection. You can play some Vault games offline, but you’ll need to periodically reconnect to Origin to verify that you’re still a member.

Q: Can I play Origin Access games on PC and Mac?
A: Origin Access is only available on PC. Vault games and Play First Trials cannot be played on a Mac.

Q: If I have an Origin Access subscription but don’t buy the game, how long I will be able to play FIFA 18 with the early access?
A: Usually until the full game release date or until you have played 10 hours, whichever comes sooner.

Q: What are pre-release trials? Will my progress carry over?
A: Play First Trials let you download and play upcoming EA games before they’re released for a limited time. You’ll be the first to play EA’s latest and greatest with an Origin Access membership. And because you’re playing the real game, not a demo, your progress will carry over, so you can pick up where you left off if you decide to purchase the game.

Q: Does The Vault include third party games?
A: Yes! You’ll be able to play select games from other publishers with your Origin Access membership.

Q: Why do games in The Vault vary from country to country?
A: Short answer: different countries have different rules about what games can be sold or made available. The result: what you see in The Vault may vary slightly by locale.

Q: What is the difference between the demo and the FIFA 18 Origin Access trial?
A: Demos are stand-alone chunks of a game meant to give you a taste of what it offers. For example, in the demo you will not be able to play FIFA Ultimate Team. But with Origin Access trials, you’re playing the real game for a limited time before its release date. And if you purchase FIFA 17 once it releases, you can pick up right where you left off – your progress and stats carry over.

Q: Can I buy FUT 18 packs during the early access?
A: Yes. This feature is active in FIFA 18 early access version.

Q: Should I buy the Origin Access? What do you think?
A: It depends on your profile. If you play more EOrigin games besides FIFA, it may be a good decision.

Ronaldo, which offers 20 FUT Packs plus 3-day early access to the full game;
and ICON, which add more 20 FUT packs and loan players to the Ronaldo edition.

6
FIFA 18 will cost between 60 Pounds/Dollars (standard) and 100 Pounds/Dollars (ICON edition).

7
FIFA 18 will still feature the Women national teams. The same applies to FUT Champions and SBCs.

8
Alex Hunter is back to The Journey II. This time, he will not be alone and will have the chance to play in other important leagues.

9
Legends won’t keep being a XBox 360 and a XBox One exclusive anymore. Their new name is ICONS and they will also be available for PC and Playstation 4. Maradona, Pelé and Ronaldo are three players already confirmed.

10
FIFA 18 will be powered by the Frostbite gaming engine, which has been used on some of the best games like Battlefield 4, Need for Speed and Star Ward Battlefront.

11
Frostbite will run only on PC, Playstation 4 and XBox One, the platforms where The Journey will run.

12
Players feel and move exactly like they do on the real pitch thanks to the real player motion technology.

13
FIFA 18 innovations are focused in what EA named of dramatic moments, team styles and immersive atmospheres.

14
Falmer Stadium, John Smiths Stadium and Stubhub Center are new additions this year.

FIFA 18 Preview - 20 details we already know about the game

15
No many new leagues will be added to FIFA 18. The Chinese League, probably the most expected one, doesn’t make part of the game.

16
The demo will be released in September.

17
FIFA Points will carryover from FIFA 17.

18
Many players’ faces were (re)scanned.

19
FIFA 17 gamers will have access to Web App early access.

20
FIFA 18 will be available for free in EA’s The Vault in 2018.

With this app you can manage the FUT 18 squad that you have in your PS3, XBox 360, PS4, XBox One or PC. There are many people that makes confusion between the FIFA Mobile and the FIFA 18 Companion App. The first one allows you to play the game itself. You don’t need to have a console’s account to play it. The second one is like an Web App for mobile devices. It is an application that gives you the chance to manage your console’s squad in your mobile device. It requires you to have an Origin account connected to FIFA 18 (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 or PC).

FIFA 18 Companion App Download

How to get the FIFA 18 companion app?

Please make sure your device meet the requirements and remember that this app requires you to have an Origin account connected to FIFA 18 (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 or PC). To use the FIFA Ultimate Team features in this app, you must have a FIFA Ultimate Team Club within FIFA 18 and must have played a number of games to unlock transfer market functionality via the app. Note that you’ll need to start on the web app before you can use the mobile app.

If you used the FIFA Companion App for FUT 17, you probably have realized that the app was offline a couple of days to turn your app into FUT 18. After the update, which is automatic, no longer is possible to use this App to manage your FUT 17 club just like it happens with the Web App too.

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Leagues

Which new leagues are coming to FIFA 18?

This is the time of the year in which everyone has an opinion. Everyone dreams with the perfect FIFA. Let see what the community wants. Write in the comments section which new leagues you would like to see in FIFA 18.

There are many FIFA 18 rumours, but most of them are fake. We picked the most reliable rumours, added our perception and share our opinion with you about the most likely FIFA 18 new leagues.

The main leagues from Brazil, Israel and Ukraine are by far the most wanted ones. But the community wants to see even more leagues in FIFA 18. They also want other new leagues, as the main ones from China and India. However, it will not be easy to have new leagues this year on FIFA 18…

Brazilian League

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Leagues

Likelihood: Extremely Low
Name: Serie A (Brasileirão)
Current Champions: Palmeiras
Other Popular Clubs: Santos, Palmeiras, São Paulo, Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Fluminense

EA Sports has decided to drop this league in FIFA 16 because of problems with image rights. The players from Brazil were no longer represented by FIFPro and, since this was the association which mediated the negotiations, they started to negotiate individually. Something completely impractical. Flamengo and Corinthians still have one more year of exclusivity with Konami, which means that Serie A will no be included into FIFA 18.

Chinese League

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Leagues

Likelihood: No chances
Name: Chinese Super League
Current Champions: Guangzhou Evergrande
Other Popular Clubs: Shandong Luneng, Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou R&F

This was the perfect timing to add the league to the game because many popular players moved to China and the league has now more fans than ever. However, the priority is to improve the realism of the most popular leagues. Sam Riviera, FIFA producer, already confirmed that the Chinese League will not be included into FIFA 18.

Autenticity

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Leagues

Likelihood: High

FIFA 18 will be the most authentic game of the series as the agreements all around the world show.
La Liga seams to have good chances of having the same treatment the Premier League had in FIFA 15. In other words, besides fully licenses, there will be more careful in replicating every detail, from the advertising boards to the television broadcasts. The first FIFA 18 videos also showed that Bundesliga and MLS will be more authentic than ever.

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Stadiums

This is the time of the year when everyone has an opinion. Everyone dreams with the perfect FIFA. Let see what the community wants. Write in the comments section which new stadiums you would like to see in FIFA 18.

There are many FIFA 18 rumours, but most of them are fake. We picked the most reliable rumours, added our perception and share our opinion with you about the most likely FIFA 18 new stadiums.

In the previous years, the most wanted stadiums were the Türk Telekom Arena, Estádio da Luz, Celtic Park and Maracanã. But none of them should be added in FIFA 18. It doesn’t mean that the new additions will not be exciting. Let’s see…

Falmer Stadium

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Stadiums

Likelihood: Almost Confirmed
Country: UK
Date: 2011
Capacity: 30,750 seats
Club: Brighton & Hove Albion

Since FIFA 15, every single Premier League club has its own stadium in the game. That’s what happened with the Brighton & Hove Albion, who was promoted this season.

John Smiths Stadium

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Stadiums

Likelihood: Almost Confirmed
Country: UK
Date: 1994
Capacity: 24,500 seats
Club: Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town was also promoted to the English football top division, and for that reason their stadium will be added to the game.

Stubhub Center

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Stadiums

Likelihood: Confirmed
Country: US
Date: 2003
Capacity: 27,000 seats
Club: LA Galaxy

Thanks to The Journey, we know that the home of LA Galaxy will be one of the new stadiums of FIFA 18. Thank you, Alex!

More Stadiums

FIFA 18 Wishlist: New Stadiums

Likelihood: Medium
Country: Mostly Spain

The list of the new stadiums may be larger. There is a small chance to see EA Sports introducing in the game most of the stadiums from La Liga, just like they did three years ago with the Premier League stadiums. That would increase the level of authenticity to something never seen before. We believe that they will add, at least, the Wanda Metropolitano but we will have to wait to know.

And you? Which new stadiums are in you wishlist ? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
